Recently, retailer and pharmacy store London Drugs was under a heavy ransom attack by none other than LockBit.

LockBit has been notorious for stealing over hundreds of millions of dollars from retailers, hospitals, etc… all through a simple ransomware that encrypts their data.

When hit with the attack, London Drugs said: “No, lol, I’m not paying” and never did.

And because of that, LockBit stole a vast amount of data.

300GB to be exact; and most likely sold it or in the process of selling it online.

That 300GB of data had thousands, potentially millions, of customer records, staff records, and even company records (addresses, names, phones).

At least London Drugs is offering services, such as identify theft protection services, for those who’s information may have been leaked in the breach.

Comforting, eh?

The attack that the store was temporarily shutdown until further notice. Although it opened back on May 7th, which was only a couple days after the attack, it still puts it into perspective how impactful these attacks are going to be in the future.

The more advanced they get, the more dangerous.
